Bumper stickers are in!
Happy Friday!
I have a small batch of bumper stickers available. If you'd like one, drop me a note and I'll swing by to drop one off.
Don't worry, I checked: they are removable and won't damage your car.
The Campaign Begins
Last night, I was honored to be officially nominated by the Democratic Convention at City Hall. We have a strong team this year - former Mayor Rich Smith was nominated alongside incumbent City Clerk Pete Smith (no relation) and a stellar team of candidates for the Board of Aldermen, Board of Education, Planning & Zoning Board, and Constables.
I am looking forward to getting out and meeting voters. If you'd like to get in touch to volunteer, ask a question, or anything else, please don't hesitate to email me or use the Contact Page.
See you on the campaign trail!
Visiting the Housatonic Treatment Plant
Today, in my role as Vice Chairman of the Milford Sewer Commission, I had the opportunity to tour the Housatonic Treatment Plant. We've heard several complaints from residents about the smells coming from the facility.
I was pleased to see the steps Milford Public Works has already taken to try to address the issue, and the upcoming installation of a new rotary press (photo) will improve odor control even more. This new equipment was partially funded by our City's partnership with Athletic Brewing, an agreement I was proud to support in one of my first votes on the Commission.
My thanks to the hard-working Public Works employees who organized the tour, showed us around the treatment plant, and explained how the systems function. At the end, we saw the clean water (safe to drink, though we didn't test that) where it returns to the Housatonic river:
